Key responsibilities (indicative not exhaustive) |
Maintenance, Utilities, Projects § Ensure asset preservation and monitor schedule for preventive maintenance to reduce downtime and § Establish norms and drive predictive maintenance activities across plants to ensure equipment is operational and available to achieve targeted production § Track & monitor break-down maintenance activities, identify & review root-cause, propose and initiate appropriate actions as approved to avoid repetition § Establish quality and reliability standards by studying industry benchmark, requirement of stakeholders, propose modifications | upgrade through value engineering initiatives to improve productivity and plant output § Identify innovative methods, suggest, and implement approved ideas for reducing maintenance cost and improving service § Collaborate with manufacturing and train production team on basic plant maintenance activities; define and agree on metrices to assess delivery against standards required § Ensure uninterrupted supply of power, water, air, and chilled water for smooth production process § Support SRP manufacturing operations, including troubleshooting of operational issues in manufacturing, maintenance, or capital projects § Monitor and control costs pertaining to utilities consumption and identify & implement energy conservation initiatives § Coordinate with manufacturing, process development, QA, Safety, and other stakeholders to develop requirements and recommendations for systems modification § Support project management teams in execution of projects as per timelines and standards
Inventory management § Establish norms for inventory management across plants § Classify engineering tools, spares, and equipment as per priority norms § Collaborate with purchase to make sure availability of required material on time (including engaging in procurement decisions basis cost) for ensuring smooth operations § Track and monitor ageing of engineering inventory and appropriate usage & disposal (including scrap waste)
Budgeting, Documentation § Prepare annual engineering budget for all plants, propose CAPEX and investments to improve productivity and ensure accounting of maintenance costs as per standards § Monitor execution of contracts with vendors, suppliers of equipment, manpower etc., identify deficiencies and initiate corrective actions to best interest of organization § Review daily reports and take appropriate action in event of any abnormality in system (SRP, power, boiler steam etc.) § Review monthly maintenance spends vis-à-vis budget and initiate appropriate cost control measures § Establish and periodically review & upgrade SOPs of engineering function to ensure compliance to practices
§ Report on engineering activities as per guidelines to key stakeholders, keep updated of initiatives and implement actions as approved for enhancing operational efficiencies § Ensure periodic audits to monitor adherence to established norms, identify corrective actions and drive implementation
Compliance, Liaison § Collaborate with various functions to train engineering team on various aspects of maintenance, basic operations, documentation & record keeping, adherence to SOPs § Ensure compliance to defined EHS standards, review and implement engineering practices to mitigate operational risks and ensure zero incidents & accidents across plants § Ensure filing of all statutory returns as applicable, establish al |
